Miniclip introduces strategic partner Tencent to expand in global games market

Miniclip, one of Europe’s largest independent mobile and online game publishers, today announced that Tencent Holdings Limited (“Tencent”, HKSE: 0700), a leading provider of comprehensive Internet services in China, has acquired a majority stake in the company.

Following the investment, Miniclip will remain an independent business and its existing management team will continue to lead its business in the future. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Miniclip is a pioneer in the digital games industry. The company was founded in 2001 and has grown organically into a leading online and mobile games publisher.
