Corporate Social Responsibility? Corporate Responsibility? Sustainability?
Call it whatever you like, but Miniclip tries to do what it can to support the local community and international issues. We actively encourage our offices to examine how they can make a difference and have a dedicated budget to support employee suggested initiatives and activities. As well as trying to ensure our offices are managed with the environment in mind, we offer all employees additional time off for voluntary work. We call this “Miniclip Gives” and have had employees volunteering at homeless shelters in the UK, supporting children’s homes in Switzerland and collecting clothes for the homeless in Portugal.
Over the years, we have supported many charities around the globe supporting local, national and international campaigns. Below are a few of our more recent activities:
Building a new school in Nepal
With one of our employees heavily involved with the Rotaract Club of Portugal, Miniclip chose to support fundraising efforts towards the building of a new school in Nepal after the dreadful earthquakes in April 2015.
Computers for a children’s home in Switzerland
We donated a series of computers and IT equipment to a local home for disadvantaged children in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
Organising charity bake sales
Our London office baked some cakes and held a bake sale to raise money for Special Effect! Special Effect helps people with physical disabilities to enjoy games and leisure technology. Find out more at http://www.specialeffect.org.uk
Sponsoring a girls community football team
The amateur football team, for which a Miniclipper’s daughter plays, needed some new equipment and we decide to sponsor them. Copleston Ladies, a girls only community football team, now has some shiny new team tops and wore them on a visit to Arsenal’s ground in London.
Promoting better childcare in Portugal
Miniclip took part in National Pyjama Day by, yes, wearing pyjamas to the office in order to promote family childcare and reduce the number of institutionalized children. We have more details on this here.
Ice Bucket Challenge supporting ALS Association
We couldn’t help but join in this fun way of supporting the ALS Association. As well as each office challenging each other and getting wet and cold, we developed a quick minigame to promote ALS too. You can play it here.
